Beaney set to complete suspension before KSC semi

*Correction* With the postponed home fixture with Bishops Stortford re-arranged for later this month, Beaney's ban will expire after Bath City's visit to Hayes Lane on March 28. He's therefore available both for selection against Braintree Town this Saturday, another fixture that originally fell victim to the winter weather, and can return for Bromley's cup tie against fellow north Kent side Whitstable Town.

   Beaney to miss KSC semi-final

Kenny Beaney has been received a three-match ban which starts on March 21st when Bromley go to Weston Super Mare in the Conference South.

The Lillywhites host Whitstable Town ten days later in the Kent Senior Cup Semi Final. As long as there are no postponements Beaney will then be available again for the league trip to Hayes and Yeading United on April 4th.

Beaney who was signed from Thurrock last month was dismissed after the final whistle last Saturday.

Referee Mr Berry showed the midfielder a straight red card for his involvement in an altercation with the opposition’s manager.

The league’s current second top goalscorer this season, Bromley striker Warren McBean admitted that winning all nine remaining league games in order to stand any chance of reaching the play-offs is a very tall order indeed. But cup success is definitely on the player’s minds at Hayes Lane as the season enters its final weeks.

“We are still in a cup semi-final so we definitely want to win that, Ebbsfleet United are out of it so we feel we've got a good chance," he said after scoring a goal in each half against Fisher.

Goalkeeper Gareth Williams played on despite picking up an ankle injury early in the game. Determined to keep a clean sheet during what had been a quiet afternoon for him, he stayed on guard through out and even pulled off a fine save to deny the league’s basement side a consolation goal near the end.

   Another continental squad addition

A local newspaper article had left fans guessing the identity of a player who had been training with Bromley.

Manager Mark Goldberg, when speaking a fortnight ago about the recent newcomers at Hayes Lane, compared the arrival of Vincenzo Zanzi with that of another unnamed player. "He (Zanzi) just came over from Italy and wanted to play. He has got a girlfriend who lives out here and he just came along to training," Goldberg said. "We have got another player who came from Belgium and did exactly the same thing. We gave them the opportunity and they look like decent players."

According to today's announcement on the club's website, Daniel Pakasa, who like Zanzi provides further options in defence, has been with the club for a few months, awaiting the international clearance which only came in for the young Dutchman this week.

Meanwhile, a win tomorrow at home to Fisher Athletic would make it 16 points from Bromley's last nine games, which will satisfy the manager. Before that run began Goldberg stated how he had every confidence in his side picking up more points than they would drop for the remainder of the season. And so far they've done what he'd expected.
