Fixtures/ Weymouth
Greeting all
OK Then. What is it with the folks that sit down and arrange the fixtures, The whites are in the middle of a run of 4 away games at Worcester, Weymouth, Dorchester, and Weston Super Nightmare, an expensive 6 weeks that will turn out to be, then added to that the
F A Cup fixtures, where we season ticket holders, have to cough up a tenner to keep the turnstiles from going rusty, well lucky for us this year the black bag gods have been good to us by giving us home draws , which is a bit alien to us at Crabble as we usually end up travelling to some remote place in the New Forest or in the Flat Pack county of Essex, but these games will go to some way to answering the Weymouth fan who quoted on their forum, he was expecting more DAFC fans than travelled , even I noticed that one or two of the die hards were missing yesterday, or were that sitting in that big stand that they have down on the Dorset coast, we can't all aford it,
Talking of weymouth its been about 5 years since we last travelled down there, and that was a evening match, where we got thumped by 3 goals to nil, that was the Days of Mr Claridge, who i think was the referee that night too,but yesterday was different altogather , where, once we scored,we never looked like losing but being Dover we do try and beat ourselves, we miss a cart laod of chances and let them score two minutes from the end real Squeaky bum time, I been to Weymouth a number of times and I think thye have a smashing ground down there, neat and tidy, with a big stand but now have a set of dodgy stewards who seemed to be a bit OTT , but I'm not here to judge them , Its a real shame to see the internal sqabbles going on down there , there fans were real friendly to us, made as real welcome and they actually seemed quite happy that they lost which seemed a tad strange, as it was only by 2 goals to one, think they were expecting another thrashing like the week before, but fottball aint like that , I met the president of the club, a spitley chap who in his 80's was looked fitter than me, who was telling us about when he played against Dover back in the Fifties, , and its folks like him that you would really feel for if they actually did lose their
club, and of course their fans as well. they only want to watch their local team, and it may be taken away fronm them, which will be sad
It was a great day for us vast amouts of alcohol seemed to be downed by the 80-90 DAFC fans that went down there, and the stange thing is that we trundle down there in two weeks time to face Dorcheter, which is a new ground for me,
Before than we play Basingstoke , Dont know much about them ,I think we have played them before in the cup but cant remember, it may be one of them instances when we got drawn against them subject to a replay of something , I did once have and Auntie who lived there , and I stayed thereduring the 1966 world cup where I remember Sir Bobby lifting the the 12 inches of solid gold,
Not only do we entertain Basingstoke which is a odd game as we are the only game in the BSS this mid week,or was when the BSS fixtures first cam out, next Saturday Eastleigh travel ,well east, in the FA Cup, and all Dover fans know what happens when we get to the 4th Qualifing round......................Cup run ends. Lets see if Hessie can spin that Voodoo once and for all

First 11 games
Greetings BSS taken ne ages to get registered on here, but made it now !!!
OK we have now passed the quarter stage of the league games , 11 played already , where did they go , can only say that things at Dover are progressing a little better that we thought they would,Ok we were told by our management that we will be up there pushing, but to be top, they promised us not, well what manager would say that his team will be top, Oh yeah tell you one the Worthing manager who promised a instant return to the Rymans Premier after after dropping out,he said that they would walk the league, I bet every oppo manager that season pinned that artical to the dressing room wall before they played them , and of course three season later where are they, yep your right
The warm days of August and September have passed,so far we have been entertained by Maidenhead, a bore draw where we should have claimed 3 points but in the end held on for one, some fans blamed the heat, others our lack luster forward line, some even blamed the M4, what the M4, well, some road works held up the team coach which didnt arrive til nearly half two, I remember seeing Hessie huffing and puffing as he got off the coach , well I think it was him,he was hiding behind a ball boy as I walked pass, then followed an interesting trip to Melbourne Park one of my 4 new grounds I hope to tick off this season,Ok I'm a bit of a ground hopper too, well not quite anorak standard ......Successive trips to the South West to Eastleigh and Havent , the latter seeing our undefeated record go, well it lasted longer than last season anyway, then followed a tricky trip to undefeated Thurrock, but they did not remain that way after the ninety minutes, but it needed a fine performace by the whites to stop them,
Tomorrow's a first as we venture to the Blue Square North to renew our aquantances with Worcester City,I might pop in and say hello to Glouster on the way there, but Worcester did tonked us 5-1 on our last visit, which was in our relegation free fall season from the old Southern League, but hopes remain high that will not be repeated tomorrow, I understand that the players travelled up today for an overnight stay, well if we couldn't get to Maidenhead on time, must be little chance on getting to Worcester by 1-00PM. Must be catching this overnight in a hotel before a game as Little East Preston stayed over before our FAC game last week too.
Still have loads of injuries so it remains a mystery what the line up is tomorrow well we we soon see
