  Club History

The present club was formed in 1938 and admitted to the Southern League, winning it in 45/46. It wasn't won again until 68 and again 4 years later, then followed a steady decline and their first ever relegation in 77. City reclaimed a place in the Premier Div due to re-organisation and in 86 just missed out on the conference behind Welling Utd. In 93 a supporters group took over the club but life in the Premier became hard and City finished last in 97. Since 97 the club has gone through further twists none so major as the loss of the famous old New Writtle Street ground which was sold by the official receiver. More...
